# Second Brain

The front door to everything I know. One notebook, five sections, one rule: capture fast, organize later. #second-brain

---

## Start here

- [ ] Create five sections in this notebook: Inbox, Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive
- [ ] Import the Second Brain Note template and switch on "Use as a template" in the page menu
- [ ] Capture the first three notes with it — don't organize them yet
- [ ] Book a 20-minute weekly review in your calendar

---

## Projects — things with a finish line

Short-term efforts with an outcome and a date. One page per project; link every meeting and note that feeds it.

- [[Project — rename me]]

## Areas — things I keep up

Ongoing responsibilities with a standard to hold, not a date to hit.

- [[Health]]
- [[Finances]]
- [[Career]]

## Resources — things I'm curious about

Topics and reference material I may want again someday.

- [[Reading list]]
- [[Ideas]]

## Archive

Finished projects and areas that went quiet. Move them, never delete them — links keep working.

---

## Weekly review

- [ ] Empty the Inbox: each note gets a section, a link, or the trash
- [ ] Open My Tasks and clear Overdue
- [ ] Turn one placeholder link (the dashed ones) into a real page
- [ ] Open the graph: which note has no connections yet?
- [ ] Pick the one project that matters most next week

---

## How I use this

| Step | What it means | Where it happens |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Capture | Save anything that resonates | New page from the Second Brain Note template, dictation, a meeting recording |
| Organize | File by where it will be useful | Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive |
| Distill | Boil it down to one sentence | "In one sentence" and "In my own words" on each note |
| Express | Make something with it | A project page that links to the notes behind it |
