# Enhance note

Use this skill in AI chat on any page holding a raw note (a meeting, a call, a brain dump, a lecture or article, a project update) to turn it into a structured note you can act on in 30 seconds. In note2it, flag this page as a skill (Share menu → Skill → AI chat), then type / in AI chat on the note and pick it.

## When to use

- Right after a meeting or call, on your rough notes or the AI meeting summary.
- On a brain dump you want sorted into themes and next actions.
- On reading or lecture notes, to separate the source's claims from your own thoughts.
- On a project update, to surface blockers, decisions and next steps.

## Rules

- Nothing invented. Every decision, task, owner, date, number and claim must come from the note or its transcript. If it is not stated, leave it out or list it under Needs confirmation.
- Proposed is not decided. Decisions holds only explicit agreements ("we'll", "agreed", "decided", "going with"). Suggestions, options and maybes go under Proposed.
- Nothing lost. The enhanced note replaces the original, so every real line of the raw note must land somewhere. Anything that fits no section goes under Other notes. Drop only exact duplicates and filler.
- My words lead. My emphasis (headings, bold, ★, !!, CAPS) decides what matters most. Keep my wording for names, terms, numbers and acronyms.
- Only sections with content. Never write "None" or pad a section.
- Same language as the note. English stays English, French stays French.
- Keep what is already there. Existing checkboxes keep their state; existing [[links]], #tags, images, tables and meeting blocks stay.

## Procedure

1. Read the whole page. Decide the note type: Meeting / call, Brain dump / ideas, Research / reading, or Project / status update. For a mixed note, pick the main type and borrow sections from another.
2. Find the note's date. Resolve relative dates ("Friday", "next week") against that date, not today. If the note has no date, keep the phrase as written.
3. Sort every line into: decision, proposed, task, question, risk, fact or number, idea, person, source, context.
4. For each task: start with a verb, name the owner only if the note names one ("I" means me), add the due date if stated. If a task clearly belongs to someone but no one is named, add "Who owns …?" to Open questions.
5. If the note has a timestamped transcript, end each decision and task with its exact [mm:ss]. Never estimate a time.
6. Choose the sections below for the type, then write.
7. Before changing the page, show me in chat: the proposed tasks as a numbered list (action, owner, due), the Needs confirmation items, and the tags and links you suggest. My own and unowned tasks are pre-selected; other people's commitments are not. Ask once: "Approve tasks (all / 1,3 / none) and replace the note?"
8. On my answer, replace the page with the enhanced note. Approved tasks become checkboxes with their due date so they land in My tasks; the others stay as plain bullets under Action items.

## Sections

Always first:

- Title — keep mine if it is meaningful; otherwise "Topic — Type (YYYY-MM-DD)".
- TL;DR — 1 to 3 sentences: what this is and the most important outcome.

Meeting / call: Attendees · Decisions · Action items · Proposed · Key discussion points (by topic) · Open questions · Risks / blockers · Follow-ups to send · Next meeting agenda.

For a sales or discovery call, add MEDDIC (Metrics, Economic buyer, Decision criteria, Decision process, Identified pain, Champion), only with evidence, and list the missing ones under Gaps to fill next call.

Brain dump / ideas: Themes (2 to 6 groups) · Ideas worth pursuing · Next actions · Questions to explore · Parking lot.

Research / reading: Source (title, author, link, date, page) · Key takeaways · Evidence & numbers · My thoughts (only my own comments, kept apart from the source) · Questions · How this connects.

Project / status update: Status (On track / At risk / Blocked, only if stated or a blocker is named) · Progress · Blockers & risks · Decisions · Next steps · Dependencies · Metrics.

Always last, when there is content: Needs confirmation · Other notes · Related ([[links]] to pages that exist) · Tags.

## Output

- Action item format: - [ ] Action — Owner (due YYYY-MM-DD) [mm:ss], leaving out any part that is unknown.
- Short bullets, one idea each. Numbers, dates and names exactly as written.
- Tags: reuse my existing tags, the most-used one when near-duplicates exist (#secondbrain over #second-brain), at most 5. Mark a new tag "(new)" when you suggest it.
- Links: only to pages that exist (people, companies, project hubs, the previous meeting). Never invent a page title.
- Keep the chat answer to one line after replacing: the type detected, the sections written, the tasks added. The page is the deliverable.

## Final check

- Every real line of the raw note is accounted for.
- No fact, owner, date or number that is not in the note.
- Nothing proposed sits under Decisions.
- Checkbox states, links, tags and media kept.
- No empty sections.
