Connect Claude to Your Notes

note2it now speaks MCP — connect Claude in a couple of clicks and let it search, read, and carefully edit your notes, with permissions you control and changes you can undo.

Your notes are where your thinking lives. Starting today, your AI assistant can work there with you: note2it ships an official MCP connector — the open standard (Model Context Protocol) that Claude and other assistants use to work with your tools.

Connect once, then just ask: “What did I conclude about the Q3 roadmap?”, “File yesterday's meeting notes under Projects”, or “Start a book review from my template for Dune.”

Connecting takes two clicks

Add note2it in your assistant's connector settings and you'll land on a note2it authorization screen. Pick what to allow — read your notes, or also edit them — and approve. No tokens to copy for OAuth-capable clients (Claude on web, desktop, and mobile); a personal API token from Settings covers everything else.

Every connection is listed in Settings under AI assistants, with what it can do and when it was last used. Revoke one and it's cut off immediately.

Edits with a scalpel, not a sledgehammer

Most note connectors can only replace a whole page — risky when an assistant edits alongside you. note2it gives assistants block-level surgery: add a row under one heading, fix one sentence, leave everything else untouched. If the page changed since the assistant last read it, the edit is refused instead of overwriting your work.

And every connector edit is undoable: note2it snapshots a page before an assistant touches it, and pages an assistant deletes go to a restorable trash — nothing is ever permanently deleted by an AI.

Your knowledge graph, understood

Assistants see your notes the way you do: [[wiki-links]] between pages, backlinks, tags, and your page templates with their fill-in fields. Ask Claude to map everything connected to a topic, find broken links, or instantiate your meeting-notes template with today's agenda — filled in, tagged, and linked.

Renames are safe too: when a page title changes, every [[link]] pointing at it is rewritten so your graph never breaks.

Built like the rest of note2it

Connector access respects your account's permissions, is rate-limited, and every action — reads included — lands in the audit trail. Access credentials are stored only as cryptographic hashes.

The MCP connector is available on Premium and Enterprise plans.
